Since you don't need to elaborate on world info, I'd suggest filling out the canon character section and adding some info into the character history section to explain how they relate to the canon characters.
A Few Questions
First off, I wish to commend the detail this place has. I like that -- it indicated depth and true workmanship in design.
This brings me to some questions though, regarding both how to contact you and how characters are handled. I'll address contacting you first, since this is a purely OOC issue -- an adaptive one in my case.
Long tale short is, as a blind user, IRC isn't what you'd call compatible with blind-adaptive technologies such as my screen reading program. It...hates IRC and most Flash-oriented programming beyond this. So I'm kind of wondering, if I were to app, how would this be handled? When I join a place, I like to keep up and in the loop, as it were.
Secondly, regarding played-bys...beyond my distinct opinion of them regardless. Noting the above, as I mentioned, I am a blind user and thus, can't see to find a PB. And my character is very blatantly not human and cannot be made to look human to begin with.
How would you handle this?
I know it's all on the quite odd side since compared to fully sighted individuals, we blind folk are sparse in number and thus, queries like this don't come up commonly.
That being said, I'm still quite interested in this place and I hope perhaps, we could work something out without either damaging the integrity of your community or the integrity of my own creation (Or me tryingt o attempt things I have no clue how to do and thus, making a complete idiot of myself! LOL).

Issue One: IRC & Adaptive Technology
I'm sorry to hear that IRC is incompatible with your screen-reader. The chatroom is more for socialization and less for serious, intense plotting. In fact, there are many players (possibly even the majority) that never use it at all. Most of the OOC plotting occurs during the biweekly state of the game posts and those are held on Dreamwidth. Additionally, we have a current player with visual impairment issues and have done our best to ensure that all the communities, tables, information, etc. is accessible. If you run into any difficulty, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Issue Two: Played-Bys
If you don't have a preferred play-by, we would suggest that after your character is accepted, you could post to the OOC community and ask for assistance -- either to find someone/some art that's suitable or to ask for assistance photoshopping icons. If none of that lines up with your needs, that's fine. So long as there's an effort to keep played-by images race/ethnicity appropriate (less of an issue with non-human characters) we're all pretty laid back.
Finally, if you are still interested in playing here, I would suggest responding to the Potential Application Post to ensure that your character/our game can work together and maintain our mutual integrity.

She has a pretty varied skillset - FBI agent, interagency liaison, Marine... - and I have no idea what kind of jobs would be available for her in Baedal. She'd prefer something where she's helping and protecting people, but she'd also be good at office jobs, or anything requiring a lot of organization, problem-solving, pattern recognition, and/or a lot of empathy, tact and diplomacy.

I came across the game via the Latest Things page and have been nothing short of intrigued by most everything here, so am strongly considering to app a character. I'd like to know first how much the game relies on IM interaction, though. A lot of other RPGs make that mandatory, and (due to time zone reasons) somewhat difficult for me. It would be a pity to go through the application process and then be told that I am not participating enough to play because IM activity is usually occuring after midnight my time.

I am considering a canon update for Steebe, to bring him up to the current Avengers film. First of all: does the game allow for this? If not, it's cool, I will carry on as I have been.
If it is permitted, is there a procedure for updating? Like, does he need to leave the city and come back, is there a ritual, do I just drop something on his head and have him wake up with new memories, etc.

I would suggest leaving the game and then returning. If you'd like, he can either pop out and then pop back into the arrival room, or he could be summoned to, idk, Ceith's temple and she can handle the world-hoppery.

Are PBs absolutely necessary? I'm interested in apping a book character who looks like this: (changed it to a link since it's large-ish).

And I've used real people for icons of him before, but never just one actor. I've done some clever cropping of different guys whose entire features just don't quite match... I've also used book art, and stuff from shadowscapes.com that fit as a general feel.
I'm also interested in possibly apping a second character later, should I get in with Amberdrake, and he's not even entirely human looking.

Namely, I can't seem to access the WIKI at ALL! >___> I mean, I click the link, and after giving me some BS about how it can't find the SERVER, my Browser usually just loads the Search Engine I normally use, as if telling me, "No, really, it's NOT THERE; I suggest you try to FIND IT another way!" xD But... well... there's NO Multiversal Wiki anywhere on those search results, that seems to belong to your game!
